Where to find Kin Elementary School
Kin Elementary School is hiding behind the main street in Kin Town (Route
329). Find Family Mart Convenience Store and the road leading to the school
is directly opposite. There is a sign in Japanese and two 'shisa' lion-dogs
at the top of the road leading to the school.
The School Gate & the Main Entrance
Remember to say 'Good morning' or 'Ohayou gozaimasu' to the Principal,
the school guard, and whoever else is on greeting and traffic safety duty
as you come in to the school. Then, look up and see the interesting mural
of Okawa Springs, the hari boats and the rainbow.
The East and West Entrances
Turn left and right as you go into the school. These are the entrances
we use to get to our classrooms and where we leave our outdoor shoes at
the start of the day, and our indoor shoes when we are outside and when
we are not in school
The staff & visitors' entrance
This is the entrance for the teachers and visitors. Go in and straight
ahead is the school office, on the left is the principal's office and on
the right is the teachers' room.
The computer room
Computers are cool and it is always cool in this room!
The health education room
This is the health education room. We come here if we are hurt or feeling
sick.
The sports ground
This is where we play soccer and kick-baseball, run, jump rope and do lots
of activities during PE lessons. There are baseball and soccer clubs who
practise here after school. At recess we play tag and hide-and-seek too.
We also have our school sports day here at the end of September or the
beginning of October.
The gym
This is where we play basketball and volleyball, and do gym during PE lessons.
We also have assemblies, ceremonies and school performances here.
The music room
This is the music room.
The science rooms
These are our science rooms.
The home economics room
We learn to cook rice, prepare different kinds of salads and make dishes
like miso soup in this room. Yummy!
The library
This is the library on the second floor.
Our classrooms
These are our classrooms. They are sunny and bright! It gets very hot in
Okinawa, so we are lucky to have air-conditioning!
Well, that's our school tour over, let's go back to the English page!
